Ministry of Health and Preventions Department of Nursing holds graduation ceremony for fifth batch of Leadership for Change graduates

The Ministry of Health and Prevention held a graduation event for the 5th batch of the 'Leadership for Change' participants at the Sharjah Training and development Center in collaboration with the International Nursing Council. The participants included Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector, and Dr. Sumaya Mohammed Al Balushi, Director of the Department of Nursing.

Dr. Al Serkal stated the event becomes part of the national effort to promote and bring in Emiratis to the nursing occupation. This is aligned with the goals of UAE Vision 2021 and associated projects, consisting of the 'Leadership for Change' program, to promote the career.

"We are honored that the UAE is the very first nation in the Gulf area that has actually been designated by the World Health Organization to execute the program in collaboration with the International Nursing Council since 2002. We are commemorating the graduation of 34 individuals who added to the nursing services in accordance with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The goal is to promote the nursing career in the country.

Dr. Al Balushi emphasized that nurses are the foundation of the health sector, therefore, the have to highlight their function in the industry's advancement and change in terms of leadership, education, and research study to ensure customer satisfaction.

She mentioned that the program helps graduates to prepare for senior management positions and to add to regional health projects. She also thanked the fitness instructors for their efforts and contributions to the local industry along with the program's directors and advisor committees. The program has an overall of 133 graduates.
