Małopolska Tourism CEO Welcomes Etihad Airways’ New Direct Flights from Abu Dhabi to Kraków
Grzegorz Biedroń, CEO of the Małopolska Tourism Board, has warmly welcomed the announcement by Etihad Airways to launch direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Kraków, beginning in the summer of 2026. The new route is expected to significantly enhance tourism and cultural exchange between Poland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In an official statement, Biedroń described the move as “a significant boost to tourism and cultural exchange between Poland and the United Arab Emirates,” emphasizing that the new air link will solidify Kraków’s position as a top European destination for visitors from the Gulf region.
“This new route by Etihad Airways marks an important milestone in strengthening Kraków’s position as a leading European destination for visitors from the Gulf region, particularly the UAE, with whom we share a growing bond of friendship and cooperation,” said Biedroń.
He noted that direct flights will offer greater ease and convenience for Emirati travelers looking to experience Małopolska’s cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and natural beauty, with Kraków at its core — often regarded as one of the most beautiful and historic cities in Europe.
Tailored Tourism Strategy for UAE Travelers
Biedroń also confirmed that the Małopolska Tourism Board is preparing customized promotional campaigns and travel offerings specifically designed for visitors from the UAE and the broader Gulf region. These include:
-
Family-friendly tourism packages
-
Luxury and wellness travel experiences
-
Nature and adventure-based excursions
The board also aims to strengthen ties with travel agencies and tour operators in both Poland and the UAE to maximize the route’s potential.
“We see 2026 as the beginning of a new chapter in connecting East and West through tourism,” Biedroń concluded. “We warmly welcome our guests from the UAE to the heart of Poland – Kraków.”
This development is expected to bolster tourism flows, expand business and cultural ties, and position Kraków as a gateway to Central Europe for UAE and GCC travelers.
