Ajman Tourism Department Launches Second Edition of ‘Self-Exploration through Tourism’ Summer Training Programme
The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) has announced the launch of the second edition of its summer training initiative, ‘Self-Exploration through Tourism’, aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of Emirati university students. Following the success of its inaugural edition, the programme is part of ADTD’s strategic vision to support youth empowerment and contribute to the growth of Ajman’s key sectors, particularly tourism.
Running until July 31, 2025, the programme operates daily from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM and is open to Emirati students enrolled in academic institutions within the UAE. It offers participants hands-on experience in a real-world work environment, helping them build applied knowledge, improve communication and interpersonal skills, and explore potential career paths.
The initiative also prepares students to meet evolving labour market demands by training them in the use of modern tools and systems, while instilling essential values such as punctuality, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility.
His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTD, commented:
“ADTD’s ‘Self-Exploration through Tourism’ programme reflects our commitment to empowering the youth by offering high-quality educational and training opportunities. It enables students to realise their potential and develop essential skills that align with our national goals and Ajman Vision 2030.”
Covering disciplines vital to the Emirate’s development—such as tourism and hospitality, marketing and promotion, human resources management, accounting, graphic design, and public law—the programme provides a well-rounded professional foundation. Participants who meet eligibility criteria will receive a financial reward, a certificate of participation, and opportunities to attend specialised workshops and initiatives.
The programme is also designed to foster positive behavioural traits, emphasizing discipline, commitment, and teamwork. It supports the ADTD’s broader mission of advancing the tourism and hospitality sector through skill-building initiatives that empower local talent and ensure a sustainable future.
By equipping students with market-relevant knowledge and experiences, the programme aligns with the Emirate’s goals of creating a vibrant, skilled workforce capable of contributing to Ajman’s positioning on the global tourism map.
