MAJRA Launches New ‘Impact Seal’ Category for SMEs at Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival

MAJRA - National CSR Fund has introduced a new ‘SME for Impact’ category under its prestigious Impact Seal initiative, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. The launch, announced on the sidelines of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF), aims to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to drive positive socio-economic impact and align with the UAE’s National Entrepreneurship Agenda.

Empowering SMEs for a Sustainable Future

SMEs are the backbone of the UAE economy, accounting for 94% of all businesses and employing 86% of the private sector workforce. With this new Impact Seal category, MAJRA, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Economy, is providing SMEs with a structured framework to adopt corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.

Sarah Shaw, Director of MAJRA, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating:

“The Majra SME for Impact Seal category is more than just recognition; it reflects our unwavering commitment to fostering responsible business practices within the SME sector. We aim to create a culture where businesses integrate sustainability into their operations while actively contributing to the UAE’s vision for a future-ready economy.”

Impact Seal: A Benchmark for Excellence in CSR & ESG

Since its launch in 2023, the Impact Seal has become the UAE’s highest CSR and ESG recognition, with three certification levels—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—honoring companies that demonstrate exceptional contributions to sustainability. The new SME-focused category will encourage more businesses to report impact-driven data, fostering transparency and accountability in sustainable initiatives.

SME Showcase & Impact Verification at SEF

During the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, MAJRA also:

  • Sponsored three complimentary SME pods for businesses awarded the Impact Seal, enabling them to present their verified sustainable impact projects.
  • Demonstrated its qualification and verification process for sustainable projects, reinforcing its role as the only federal body responsible for certifying impact-driven initiatives through its Impact Verification and Impact Qualification Stamps.

With this initiative, MAJRA continues to champion the integration of entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring SMEs play a vital role in achieving the UAE’s long-term economic and environmental goals.
