Jumbo Group celebrates Emirati Women’s Day with inspiring events at HCT Dubai Women’s College and company headquarters

Jumbo Group, one of the UAE’s leading consumer electronics companies, marked Emirati Women’s Day with two inspiring events celebrating the resilience, leadership, and aspirations of Emirati women. The celebrations, held under this year’s theme “Hand in Hand, Celebrating the 50th”—commemorating five decades since the establishment of the General Women’s Union in 1975—brought together students, professionals, and employees to reflect on progress and future opportunities.

The first event took place at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) – Dubai Women’s College, where more than 100 students, faculty members, and Jumbo representatives gathered for a morning of engaging discussions and cultural activities. The programme began with a welcome address by Khadija Alblooshi, Emiratisation Specialist at Jumbo Group, who underlined the national importance of Emirati Women’s Day and the company’s continued support for women in the workplace.

Highlights included a lively quiz focused on women in leadership and Emirati culture, with winners receiving Dyson Zone headphones. All participants received custom-designed tote bags featuring artwork by Jumbo employee and graphic designer Ayesha Alsuwaidi. The event culminated in a panel discussion led by Alblooshi and HCT’s faculty, which spotlighted the achievements of Emirati alumnae now thriving within Jumbo Group. Their stories served as an inspiration for students pursuing professional growth.

At Jumbo’s headquarters, the celebration turned inward with a networking breakfast for Emirati women employees, recognizing their contributions across departments. The event also featured a career development workshop, equipping staff with tools and insights to further their professional journeys.
