HIMA Expands Latin America Presence with New Offices in Colombia and Peru
HIMA Group has marked a significant step in its global growth strategy with the official opening of new entities in Lima, Peru and Bogotá, Colombia, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Latin American market.
The company hosted official opening ceremonies on March 3 in Lima and March 5 in Bogotá, bringing together customers and partners from key industries including oil and gas, chemicals, and petrochemicals. The events featured executive discussions and technical sessions focused on digital transformation in process safety and the growing importance of operational technology (OT) security in increasingly connected industrial environments.
The expansion builds on HIMA’s broader international growth strategy, which has seen the company strengthen its global footprint through new subsidiaries and service centers across key markets. The group has been steadily expanding in high-growth regions to improve customer proximity and support complex industrial projects locally.
Latin America is emerging as a strategic focus area for HIMA, driven by abundant natural resources, expanding industrial infrastructure, and increasing investments in energy and process industries. The company aims to capitalize on both greenfield and brownfield project opportunities by deploying local engineering expertise and advanced safety solutions tailored to regional needs.
HIMA has been active in the region since 1995 through partnerships and has established a strong installed base of safety systems across multiple projects. Following the establishment of a legal entity in Argentina in 2021 and new entities in Colombia and Peru in 2025, the latest openings represent a key milestone in consolidating its regional presence.
Today, HIMA offers a full range of services in Latin America, including sales, engineering, project management, and after-sales support, backed by long-term maintenance contracts. In markets where it does not operate directly, the company leverages a network of 14 certified partners to ensure consistent service quality and technical expertise.
Jörg de la Motte, CEO of HIMA Group, described the expansion as a critical step in strengthening long-term partnerships and delivering digitalized safety solutions that create sustainable value for customers. Meanwhile, regional leadership emphasized the importance of local capabilities in supporting safer and more secure industrial operations.
The Bogotá office is set to function as a regional hub for market development and project management, while the Lima office will focus on delivering customer projects in Peru and neighboring countries, offering localized engineering and service support.
With over 50 years of expertise and more than 50,000 safety systems deployed worldwide, HIMA continues to position itself as a reliable partner for future-ready industrial safety solutions. The company plans to further expand its regional workforce and deepen collaborations with system integrators across Latin America, including Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Mexico.
