HIMA appoints new Vice President for Middle East region
HIMA Group has announced the appointment of Dr Jean-François Trottier as Vice President for the Middle East region, effective December 1, 2025. The move reflects the Group’s strategic focus on strengthening its presence in one of its most important growth markets while expanding its reach into India and Africa.
In his new role, Dr Trottier will lead HIMA’s regional growth strategy, focusing on deepening customer partnerships, expanding market presence, and supporting the region’s transformation through advanced functional safety and operational technology (OT) security solutions. The Middle East remains a key driver of HIMA’s long-term development, supported by strong demand from sectors such as oil and gas, energy transition, petrochemicals and critical infrastructure.
Dr Trottier brings more than 30 years of international experience in business leadership, innovation and global project delivery. His career is marked by a strong technical background and an entrepreneurial approach, with extensive leadership experience across the Gulf region, including senior positions within a German family-owned enterprise.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Trottier said: “HIMA has built an unmatched reputation as an independent and reliable provider of industrial safety automation. With decades of experience protecting critical infrastructure, supporting major oil and gas producers, petrochemical facilities and expanding rail projects, the Group remains committed to operational security and excellence. I am honoured to join HIMA and look forward to working closely with our partners and teams to drive sustainable growth.”
Jörg de la Motte, Chief Executive Officer of HIMA Group, welcomed the appointment, saying: “We are delighted to have Dr Jean-François Trottier take on this key leadership role. The Middle East is a pivotal market for HIMA, particularly due to rising demand for advanced safety solutions. His deep understanding of the region positions him well to strengthen customer relationships and advance our ambition to be a trusted safety and security partner across multiple industries.”
Dr Trottier succeeds Andrew Dennant, who will be departing the company. Since joining HIMA in June 2021, Dennant played a significant role in driving development initiatives across the region and reinforcing the company’s market position during a period of rapid growth and transformation.
