H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi: ‘The Year of Community’ Represents a Humanitarian Vision for National Unity

Her Excellency Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), emphasized that ‘The Year of Community’ is a powerful humanitarian message and a national initiative that reflects the fundamental values of cooperation, solidarity, and unity within Emirati society. She described the initiative as a collective call to action, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to fostering a progressive model that positively impacts communities across the nation.

Following the announcement of 2025 as the ‘Year of Community’ by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, H.E. Al Rumaithi noted that the initiative aims to strengthen the country’s social fabric and enhance peaceful coexistence among all residents. She stated, “This inspiring national initiative reinforces the President’s vision of collective action, encouraging active community participation and fostering an environment of mutual understanding and collaboration. By doing so, we ensure stability and unity remain at the heart of our society.”

H.E. Al Rumaithi further highlighted the significance of the ‘Year of Community,’ launched under the slogan ‘Hand in Hand,’ as a platform to promote collaboration, shared responsibility, and optimism for a better future. She reaffirmed the commitment of the FDF—under the leadership of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, ‘Mother of the Nation,’ President of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood—to actively contribute to the initiative’s objectives.

“The FDF will play a crucial role in supporting this initiative through innovative programs that enhance family stability and social cohesion,” H.E. Al Rumaithi added. “These efforts reflect our dedication to building a united and cooperative society where every individual contributes to shaping a prosperous and sustainable future for generations to come.”
