Hamdan Foundation Advances Youth Innovation with "Innovators 2024" Competition

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has officially launched the implementation phase of the "Innovators 2024" competition. This forward-thinking initiative aims to empower UAE youth by transforming their creative ideas into reality at the state-of-the-art Fab Lab UAE. By fostering solutions to societal challenges, the competition strengthens the UAE's role as a hub for science, technology, and innovation.

Nine Teams Lead the Way

From over 137 applications, nine exceptional teams were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process based on innovation, feasibility, impact potential, and project readiness. The implementation phase, which began on September 23, will culminate on November 19. A final round of evaluations on November 23 will determine the winners.

The selected projects tackle critical issues across various fields:

  • Mind-Controlled Home Automation System
  • Groundwater Sustainability Enhancement ("Falaj")
  • Acoustic Technology for Solar Panel Cleaning
  • Hydroponic Indoor Farming Systems
  • StressSync Stress Management Device
  • Drowning-Detection Wristband
  • Flexible Smart Shading System
  • CrossSafe Pedestrian Safety Technology

Supporting Innovation and Practical Solutions

Khawla Ahmed Bahlooq, Assistant Executive Director of the Excellence Sector, highlighted the foundation's mission:

Winners will receive a comprehensive recognition package:

  • AED 20,000 financial award
