GPCA Announces Leadership Transition as Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun Concludes 16-Year Tenure; Eng. Mater Aldhafeeri Appointed Secretary General
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the leading voice of the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, has announced the conclusion of Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun’s distinguished tenure as Secretary General after more than 16 years of service. The Association confirmed the appointment of Eng. Mater Aldhafeeri as his successor, marking the beginning of a new era for the organization as it enters a phase of strategic transformation and enhanced member engagement.
In making the announcement, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, Chairman of GPCA, expressed his deep appreciation for Dr. Al-Sadoun’s leadership and long-standing contributions to advancing the regional chemical and petrochemical sectors. Under Dr. Al-Sadoun’s tenure, GPCA evolved into one of the most influential industry bodies in the region, driving advocacy, thought leadership, and sustainable development initiatives.
Welcoming Eng. Aldhafeeri as the new Secretary General, Al-Fageeh highlighted his extensive experience of nearly three decades in petrochemical and industrial leadership roles.
