Glowing tribute to the regions most outstanding women
It was a night of sheer splendour at the 5th GR8! Women Awards Middle East Dubai, a key event of the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival, as Bollywood personalities and prominent women from the region were honoured for their outstanding contributions in diverse fields including art, cinema, entrepreneurship, and education.
The stars of the show were at their dazzling best at the red-carpet event held at the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa on 12 January. Bollywood fans and a number of guests were treated to a night of action-packed entertainment and the opportunity to appreciate a line-up of some of the most outstanding women from the Middle East.
The GR8! Women Awards is a grand celebration of women and their achievements and a great platform for women to be honoured for their contribution in various fields, said Neha Pandey, an Indian blogger and an ardent supporter of the event. Being a writer, a singer and most importantly, a mother - it gives me great encouragement and enhances my confidence to know that women are recognised in this world if they just continue to follow their dreams.
36-year old Binu Varghese, from India, who was among those who attended the event, said: The GR8! Women Awards is a fabulous event where women of substance are appreciated, recognised and awarded. We are privileged to be a part of this years edition and meeting great women from various parts of the world. We are thankful to DSF for bringing to Dubai this amazing awards ceremony.

The award ceremony was hosted by Indian Television Academy, as a part of the milestone 20th anniversary celebrations of Dubai Shopping Festival, which is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). DSF 2015 runs until 1 February 2015, offering more than 150 citywide attractions and mega events, numerous shopping opportunities and winning options for visitors from around the world.
