Global AI leaders converge in Cairo to set momentum towards Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026
Global technology leaders, government officials, and AI innovators gathered at the historic Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace in Cairo for the exclusive launch of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa Egypt 2026. The event, organised by GITEX GLOBAL and hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in strategic partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), marked a milestone in Egypt’s ambition to become a global hub for artificial intelligence.
The invite-only gathering highlighted Egypt’s goal of unlocking $42.7 billion in annual AI value by 2030 while aligning international expertise with the country’s National AI Strategy 2025–2030. Discussions underscored Egypt’s competitive strengths in outsourced digital services, semiconductors, electronic design manufacturing, public sector transformation, startup innovation, and attracting foreign investment.
Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, stressed that hosting Ai Everything MEA reflects Egypt’s mission to remain at the forefront of global technological transformation. Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre and CEO of KAOUN International, described the event as a platform to empower stakeholders across sectors, particularly youth, talent, and startups.
H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, noted that Egypt’s selection to host the summit demonstrates international recognition of the country’s rapid AI progress. He highlighted Egypt’s advancement of 46 places in the Global AI Readiness Index since launching its first national strategy in 2019, supported by six key pillars ranging from digital skills development to robust governance frameworks.
The evening concluded with a high-level panel discussion featuring leaders from IBM, HPE, Deloitte Innovation Hub, WideBot AI, Intella, and Plug & Play Tech Centre. Industry representatives shared insights on startup scalability, public–private partnerships, and energy-efficient AI systems, as well as showcasing cutting-edge Arabic language AI models and recent funding successes.
Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026 will be held from 11–12 February 2026 at the NCIEC in Cairo. The summit is expected to bring together AI enterprises, startups, investors, and policymakers from 60 countries, positioning Cairo as a pivotal hub for AI collaboration, investment, and innovation across the Middle East and Africa.
