GAL Unites with Thales Emarat Technologies to Advance Defense and Aerospace Sector Capabilities in the UAE

Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL), a leading provider of integrated aerospace and defense services in the UAE, has signed a multi-year partnership with Thales Emarat Technologies (Thales) to enhance Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) support and explore opportunities for further cooperation in advancing the UAE’s defense and aerospace sector.

Under the terms of this four-year agreement, GAL and Thales will collaborate to improve and strengthen MPA platform support within the UAE forces. Their focus includes the supply and implementation of key resources aimed at increasing operational availability. Additionally, both parties will explore the integration of new systems for both existing and future MPA platforms.

Commitment to Skills Development and Innovation

As part of this strategic collaboration, GAL and Thales are reinforcing their commitment to developing local talent through GAL’s recently launched “Next 50 Initiative.” This multi-year program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of aspiring Emirati aerospace professionals by offering specialized training in aircraft engine maintenance, avionics, engineering principles, and operational best practices. Thales will play a key role by providing extensive training and on-site education at its global facilities.

Industry Leaders Speak on the Partnership

Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, CEO of GAL, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Partnering with Thales allows us to combine our expertise and capabilities to further collaborate on the digitalization of operations related to mission systems, maintenance, and support solutions for MPA platforms. Looking towards the future, our cooperation in training the next generation of talent ensures that at GAL, we are continuously equipping and advancing capabilities for the defense and aerospace sector in the UAE.”

Abdelhafid Mordi, CEO of Thales Emarat Technologies and Thales in the UAE, added, “We’re very proud to be partnering with GAL. I am confident that we will not only improve response time and flexibility but also readiness. Thales is celebrating 50 years in the UAE this year, and it is the trust that our partners have in us for the integration of trusted innovation, high-tech manufacturing, and localized knowledge transfer that ensures we’re directly contributing to the UAE’s national security objectives.”

A Strategic Step Forward

With this partnership, GAL and Thales continue to push the boundaries of aerospace and defense capabilities in the UAE, reinforcing their roles as key contributors to national security, technological advancement, and workforce development.
