The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has signed a landmark agreement with various government departments in Fujairah to foster collaboration in advancing space technology projects in the emirate and across the UAE.

The accord was signed by His Excellency Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director General of MBRSC; H.E. Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Director-General of Fujairah Municipality; H.E. Eng. Hassan Al Yamahi, Director General of Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality; H.E. Eng. Ali Qasim, Director General of Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation; and Dr. Ahmed Almurshidi, General Director of Fujairah GIS Centre.

During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasized the importance of collaboration among government entities to promote innovation and leadership in space and technology. He noted the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, which focus on launching initiatives to bolster national projects and enhance the UAE's global position in space and science.

Agreement Objectives

The agreement aims to facilitate:

• The application of remote sensing technologies and artificial intelligence to support environmental projects in Fujairah.
• Satellite imagery to monitor infrastructure and track vital projects in the emirate.
• Research and scientific studies to promote environmental sustainability.

The collaboration will also support several Fujairah Government departments, including Fujairah Municipality, Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality, Fujairah Civil Defence, Fujairah GIS Centre, Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, Fujairah Research Centre, Fujairah Science Club, and others.

The agreement also emphasizes data sharing and technical collaboration among the parties to meet mutual goals effectively.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of H.H. the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
