Fischer Concludes International Expert Forum 2025 in Riyadh, Showcasing Future-Ready Construction Innovations

Fischer, a global leader in fastening systems and construction solutions, successfully concluded the International Expert Forum (IEF) 2025 in Riyadh on October 6. The event brought together consultants, engineers, contractors, and key decision-makers from across the region to discuss innovation, sustainability, and the future of construction in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.

The forum began with opening remarks from Mr. Omar Mohammed, General Manager of fischer KSA, followed by Dr. Ronald Mihala, Managing Director of R&D at fischerwerke, who traced the company’s evolution from developing the first plastic plug to pioneering advanced BIM and robotic solutions.

Mr. Gürol Sevim, Managing Director of fischer Middle East and Africa, presented regional success stories that highlighted fischer’s contribution to major infrastructure projects, including stadiums, expos, and metro developments across the Middle East.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Konrad Bergmeister from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, who discussed the latest anchoring technologies and emerging trends shaping the global construction industry.

A panel discussion featuring industry leaders such as Mr. Bashir Al Bitar (DAR International Engineering Consultant), Mr. Murad Obeidat (Parsons), and Mr. Hisham Mahfouz (Alusystem), delved into design and execution challenges in modern construction. The session was moderated by Mr. Osama Farhat, National Sales Manager of fischer KSA.

Technical sessions led by Mr. Tinu Thomas, Mr. Mohamed Bakr, and Mr. Emil Blum explored innovative strengthening solutions for concrete structures, post-installed rebars, and carbon fiber systems. These sessions underscored fischer’s dedication to providing sustainable and high-performance systems for Saudi Arabia’s ambitious infrastructure projects.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Omar Mohammed thanked participants and reiterated fischer’s commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030 through smarter and more sustainable construction practices.
