‘Evening at Hegra’ in AlUla Wins Best Arts and Culture Event at Middle East Event Awards 2025

Evening at Hegra, an immersive heritage experience held in the heart of AlUla, has won the prestigious Best Arts and Culture Event award at the Middle East Event Awards 2025. This recognition solidifies AlUla’s standing as a global destination for innovative and meaningful cultural tourism experiences.

Developed in collaboration with Saudi-based ImagineExperience, Evening at Hegra offers a captivating journey through Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Launched in October 2021, the event has attracted thousands of visitors with its blend of historical storytelling, sensory engagement, and interactive performance.

Drawing from extensive historical research, the experience presents Hegra's Nabataean past through a multi-sensory narrative. Guests traverse incense-scented paths during a one-hour evening tour filled with immersive elements that highlight the ancient Incense Route—of which AlUla was a key stop—allowing visitors to connect deeply with the cultural and historical essence of the site.

The journey includes horse-drawn carriage rides, vibrant markets, and live performances, all woven together to recreate the spirit of the Nabataean era. The environment merges soundscapes, visuals, smells, and flavors, offering guests a rare chance to feel history come alive under the desert stars.

The award-winning event will return from November 26, 2025, to February 14, 2026, aligning with the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, which takes place this year from November 20 to December 7, 2025. The event is among many authentic experiences curated by AlUla for visitors seeking rich cultural immersion.

As AlUla continues to position itself as a beacon of heritage and innovation, Evening at Hegra exemplifies how historical storytelling and modern creativity can come together to offer world-class cultural tourism.
