Dubai Municipality Delegation Visits Moro Hub to Strengthen Collaboration on Smart City and Digital Transformation Goals

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed a high-level delegation from Dubai Municipality to Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, to explore advanced digital infrastructure and smart city solutions.

The delegation, led by H.E. Marwan Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, aimed to strengthen strategic collaboration in digital transformation and sustainable urban development. Senior officials in attendance included Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman – Digital & Group CEO of Digital DEWA; Eng. Waleed Bin Salman, Vice Chairman – Energy at Digital DEWA; Abdul Nasser Abbas, Board Member of Digital DEWA; and Mohammed Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub.

H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized the importance of the visit in driving forward Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in sustainability, innovation, and digital excellence. “Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, our collaboration with Dubai Municipality supports the rapid implementation of secure and sustainable digital infrastructure aligned with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050,” he said.

The delegation received an in-depth presentation on Moro Hub’s integrated services, followed by a tour of its cutting-edge facilities, including the Network Operations Centre (NOC), Security Operations Centre (SOC), Smart Cities and IoT Command Centre, and the Green Data Centre.

In recognition of Dubai Municipality’s commitment to sustainability, H.E. Al Tayer presented the Moro Hub Green Certificate to H.E. Eng. Marwan Bin Ghalita. The certificate affirms that hosting IT workloads at Moro Hub’s Green Data Centre will help Dubai Municipality significantly reduce carbon emissions, marking a key milestone in its environmental goals.

H.E. Bin Ghalita highlighted the strategic importance of such partnerships: “As Dubai evolves into one of the world’s most sustainable and smart cities, working with partners like Moro Hub is essential to enhancing public service efficiency, infrastructure resilience, and citizen-centric innovation.”

The visit spotlighted Moro Hub’s pivotal role in supporting mission-critical operations and smart city infrastructures. As a key digital enabler, Moro Hub offers services in Cloud & Hosting, Smart City & IoT, Advanced Technologies, Cybersecurity, Managed Services, and Enterprise Solutions, contributing to the UAE’s broader goals of building a knowledge-driven, innovation-led economy.
