Empower, the worlds largest district cooling services provider, today announced its contribution to the Emirates Motor Sport Federation by sponsoring of, the Emirates Desert Championship.

A spirit of adventure is ingrained into Emirati culture, said H.E Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer, Empower. Off- road activities like dune- bashing into the wadis are familiar to the citizens of this country. Even expats, who call the UAE home, routinely go out into the desert in search of action, discovery and fun. Therefore, events like the Emirates Desert Championships are essential to preserving this unique facet of our country.

The championship for the year 2014-2015 includes six-rounds for off- road motorsports. The event was established in 2013 to safeguard the future of rallying in the UAE and to enhance the nations motorsport discipline. The race includes categories for cross-country cars, cross-country buggies, motorcycles and quads.

Empowers support of the Emirates Desert Championship marks the first instance of the companys sponsorship of a sporting event. The companys contribution to this event is part of Empowers larger mandate to integrate the values of the UAEs national strategy.

Nurturing strong and active communities has been identified as an aspect for development under Vision 2021, continued Bin Shafar. Sporting events which promote active lifestyles, that build communities fall in- line with the plans of our countrys leadership, and should be celebrated and supported.

Empower operates 1 million Refrigeration Tonne (RT) capacity including iconic real estate developments in Dubai like Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residences, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Healthcare City, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Palm Jumeirah, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Design District among others.
