Emirates Health Services’ "Ghiath" System Secures Intellectual Property Rights for Enhanced Crisis Management
Emirates Health Services (EHS) has achieved a major milestone with the Ministry of Economy granting intellectual property rights to its advanced "Ghiath" emergency management and business continuity system. This accomplishment strengthens EHS’s portfolio, marking its tenth intellectual property and enhancing its commitment to innovative healthcare solutions.
H.E. Dr. Yousif Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, highlighted "Ghiath" as a vital component in the UAE's efforts to improve healthcare resilience and readiness for future crises. “This achievement aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision of innovation and sectoral development, supporting national initiatives like ‘We the UAE 2031’ and the UAE Centennial 2071 to ensure a sustainable and healthy future,” stated Dr. Al Serkal.
Dr. Wedad AlMaidoor AlMheiri, Director of EHS’s Emergency Operations Center, also expressed pride in the recognition. She noted that the "Ghiath" system empowers decision-makers by providing centralized data, statistical reports, and readiness assessment tools, ultimately boosting emergency response and operational effectiveness.
As the first health authority in the region to digitize risk records, analyze business impact, and establish a hazardous materials incident response platform, EHS aims to meet international quality and excellence standards with "Ghiath." The system, connected to the Ministry of Health and Prevention's "Jahiz" system and the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority’s platforms, supports a comprehensive approach to risk management and business continuity, adhering to standards such as the Joint Commission International (JCI) and multiple ISO certifications.
