Embraer Partners with Jazz for Smart Inventory Planning to Support Air Canada Express E-Jets

Embraer has signed a collaborative inventory planning agreement with Jazz Aviation LP to enhance operational efficiency for E-Jets operating across Canada under Air Canada Express.

The agreement will support 25 Embraer E-175 aircraft, with Jazz becoming the first Canadian operator to adopt Embraer’s Collaborative Inventory Planning (ECIP) programme—a data-driven solution designed to optimise spare parts management and reduce aircraft downtime.

Boosting Efficiency Through Data-Driven Planning

Under the ECIP programme, Embraer will take on most of the spare parts investment while managing inventory through advanced analytics and global logistics capabilities. The initiative is aimed at improving:

  • Fleet reliability
  • Operational efficiency
  • Cost predictability

Weekly inventory recommendations will be generated using real-time usage and stock data, ensuring airlines maintain optimal inventory levels while avoiding unnecessary costs.

Strengthening North American Operations

According to Carlos Naufel, the agreement highlights the company’s growing presence in North America, which hosts the largest global fleet of E-Jets.

“We look forward to supporting Jazz and helping them reduce downtime while strengthening performance,” he said.

For Doug Clarke, the partnership represents a strategic step toward enhancing service reliability.

“By leveraging Embraer’s global materials expertise, we can deliver more consistent, high-quality service for our passengers,” Clarke noted.

Key Benefits of the ECIP Programme

The Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning solution offers several advantages:

  • Reduced capital investment in spare parts
  • Fixed annual pricing, improving cost control
  • Guaranteed performance levels with predefined lead times
  • Access to Embraer’s global logistics network
  • Enhanced inventory efficiency through advanced analytics

Supporting Regional Aviation Growth

The agreement reflects a broader trend in the aviation sector toward data-led operations and predictive maintenance, particularly among regional carriers seeking to improve cost efficiency and service reliability.

By integrating ECIP into its operations, Jazz is positioning itself to strengthen fleet performance and minimise disruptions, reinforcing its role as a key operator within the Air Canada Express network.
