EPI, a subsidiary of EDGE and a leading precision engineering firm in the UAE’s aerospace, oil and gas, and defence industries, has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Lockheed Martin, a global leader in defence technology. The agreement aims to explore collaboration opportunities to support the UAE’s industrial growth, enhance national defence capabilities, and strengthen self-sufficiency in critical defence sectors.
The signing took place during the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), which runs from 17 to 21 February. The LoI was signed by Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, and John S. Clark, Vice President of Business Development at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control division. The event was witnessed by Khaled Al Zaabi, President of the Platforms and Systems cluster at EDGE.

Commenting on the collaboration, Michael Deshaies stated: “At EPI, we are committed to forming strategic partnerships that enhance our operational capabilities and drive innovation in the aerospace and defence industries. This initiative aligns with EDGE’s broader mission to localize advanced technologies and bolster the UAE’s industrial landscape.”
John Clark, Vice President of Lockheed Martin, emphasized the significance of the partnership, saying: “Lockheed Martin is proud to collaborate with EPI in advancing the UAE’s defence sector. This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies and fostering a sustainable industrial base in the region.”
