Dubai Police launches large-scale back-to-school safety plan with drones and 750 officers
The Dubai Police General Command has unveiled a wide-ranging Back-to-School safety and security plan ahead of the 2025–2026 academic year, aimed at safeguarding students as they return to classrooms on Monday, August 25.
Announced at a press conference, the initiative features the deployment of 750 senior officers and police personnel across the emirate. They will be supported by 250 patrols, which include luxury vehicles, mounted units, and motorcycle patrols. In addition, nine drones will be utilised to enhance monitoring and ensure smoother traffic movement during peak school hours.
Officials stressed the importance of motorists strictly adhering to traffic regulations, particularly respecting speed limits and giving way to school buses, to protect students and prevent accidents. The plan is part of Dubai Police’s broader efforts to ensure a safe, secure, and seamless start to the academic year.
The safety initiative also highlights the role of advanced technology and extensive on-ground presence in maintaining order and prioritising student wellbeing across the city.
