Dubai Internet City Showcases Regional Innovation at Inaugural GITEX Asia in Singapore

Dubai Internet City (DIC), the region’s leading hub for technology and innovation, concluded a successful participation in the first-ever GITEX Asia, held in Singapore from April 23 to 25, 2025. As part of the Dubai Pavilion, led by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, DIC demonstrated its role as a global connector and enabler of cross-border tech collaboration, particularly between the UAE and key Asian markets.

Strengthening East-Asia Tech Ties

Speaking during the event, Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President – Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, emphasized the growing importance of Asia’s influence on the global tech ecosystem. He noted that DIC’s diverse community, which includes leading companies from South Korea, Singapore, and India, is well-positioned to support the region’s next phase of digital innovation.

“Our technology community enables global players to accelerate their growth while contributing to the UAE’s innovation-driven economy,” said Al Malik. “Dubai Internet City continues to support the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the National Strategy for Digital Economy by fostering a thriving ecosystem for companies and talent alike.”

Highlighting a Diverse Asian Tech Community

Dubai Internet City is home to a range of prominent Asian tech firms and innovators including:

  • AI & Cloud Leaders: SenseTime, Samsung, Alibaba Cloud, Tata Consultancy Services

  • Fintech Pioneers: Policy Bazaar, UnionPay, Hero Fincorp

These companies are playing an instrumental role in advancing global technology goals while growing their footprint in the Middle East through Dubai’s strategic location and business-friendly infrastructure.

Strategic Partnerships to Fuel Growth

The event also spotlighted DIC’s long-standing collaborations with Asian industry bodies. These include strategic partnerships with:

  • Korea Information Technology Promotion Agency (KITPA) – initiated during GITEX Global 2023

  • National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) – signed at GITEX Global 2024

These partnerships aim to boost talent development, expand market access, and open new channels for bilateral cooperation in the tech sector.

Participating alongside DIC was in5, TECOM Group’s innovation and startup incubator. The platform offers vital support to emerging entrepreneurs through access to mentorship, funding, and a dynamic innovation ecosystem, positioning Dubai as a top destination for early-stage technology ventures.
