Dubai Executive Council Introduces Dubai Customs with the Strategic Framework of Dubai 2021
A delegation from the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council has briefed Dubai Customs on Dubai Plan 2021, which was launched in 2013 by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Executive Council. The meeting comes as part of a series of visits DEC undertakes to government entities to get them fully acquainted with the plan.
These visits are part of the DEC General Secretariats initiative seeking to spread knowledge and awareness about the 2021 plan, ensuring that the strategy translates the vision of HH Sheik Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as well as assuring its consistency with UAE Agendas outcomes, and boosting its role in establishing synergy amongst both private and public sectors, in addition to paving the way ahead of the next phase challenges, while pushing forward the development efforts of Dubai.
HE Ahmed Mahboob, Director of Dubai Customs along with DCs executive directors welcomed the Executive Council delegation which comprised Samira Mohammed Al Rayyes, Director of Policy and Strategy for Sustainable Development at the Executive Council, Hamdah Bin Kalban, Senior Consultant and Farah Touqan, Senior Consultant.
During the meeting, Ahmed Mahboob cherished the Executive Council General Secretariat efforts in devising and formulating the Dubai 2021 Plan, and their keenness on engaging government entities in symposiums, meetings and workshops concerned with the plan. He also affirmed that effective cooperation and communication amongst government entities is a key to realizing such grand strategies.
What we are witnessing today in this plan is the product of an accumulated massive effort, especially ahead of the upcoming phase which will see its execution, said Ahmed Mahboob, who stressed that the on-the-ground accomplishment of the plan will make Dubai NO 1 as envisioned by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid.
He further noted that Dubai Customs is an integral part of this strategy through its assigned roles upholding its responsibilities towards both economic and security realms. As well as in contributing to the provision of an optimal living and business environments in Dubai, through the Customs services it provides to traders and investors. Dubai Customs shares the same endeavour with other government entities which is to achieve Dubais vision in maintaining its lead and number one status.
Through successful consecutive five-year strategic plans, he said, Dubai Customs had always been keen on setting flexible strategic plans stemming out from both the UAE and Dubai strategies, in such a way that helps realize its corporate vision of becoming the worlds leading Customs administration supporting legitimate trade and achieves its mission in safeguarding society and boosting economic development, as well as in preserving Dubais spearhead position as a business destination of choice.
The Executive Council Delegation presented the strategic framework of Dubai 2021 Plan, including the key performance indicators, work plan and the remaining stages of the plan still in progress, besides Dubai customs role in the development and execution of the plan.
