DSF 20th Anniversarys family-oriented events reflect diversity of cultures in Dubai

Each year the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), with its packed calendar of diverse attractions, offers families from around the world the opportunity to come together, unwind in Dubais lively surroundings and create wonderful memories of this unique season of celebrations. Set to be the biggest in the festivals history, DSF 2015 will take place from 1 January to 1 February 2015, under the special theme A Journey of Celebrations.

To make the upcoming DSF extra special, the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and organisers of DSF 2015, have lined up a mega calendar of family entertainment events featuring international artists. Aimed at enriching the DSF experience for visitors and residents of all ages and nationalities, the festivals agenda of events brings to life the festivals universal slogan One World, One Family, One Festival.

During the 32 days of the festival, families can look forward to shows featuring entertainment stars from expats native homelands, fantastic art and music events that open a window into the cultures of other countries, musical spectacles that see young and wannabe entertainers step into the shoes of renowned musical icons and international dance and music performances that are sure to unite Dubais multicultural community in celebration of this internationally renowned festival.

Pinoy Fiesta 2015
Zabeel Park Amphitheatre, 30 January

The much-awaited Filipino entertainment show that caters to every age group will feature music, dance, and comedy all in one show. Filipino pop-band Side A and popular Filipino actor, singer-songwriter and guitarist Aiza Seguerra will have fans reminiscing their teenager days with their acoustic hits, while the renowned comedian Maria Brosas, better known as K-Brosas will ensure audiences have a rib-tickling night with her hilarious impersonation of international artists. The Chinese-Filipino actress Kim Chiu will get everyone dancing with her moves and her duet song with Paulo Avelino is sure to excite all the teens in the audience. The event is open to attendees of all ages.

Latin Art Fest
Artissima Gallery, 8th Street, Al Quoz Industrial 1, 30 January

Latin Art Fest (#LAXDXB) will showcase unique Latin-American and Spanish performances in the heart of Al Quoz. As Dubais first Latin Art Fest the must-visit event is an ideal opportunity for arts and culture enthusiasts to discover the intrinsic elements of Latin art and culture. An exuberant display of art, regional cuisines and live entertainment from a number of American countries and Spain Latin Art Fest promises to be a fun event featuring fine art photographic exhibition, the bazaar Latino, Latin food street stalls, live painting and much more.

Little Superstars
1 7 January, Dubai Festival City Mall

Little Superstars is a musical show featuring the Pre Skool group famed for their performances in Britains Got Talent. This DSF, they bring to visitors and residents from around the world, the charm and glamour of some of the most iconic musical stars with Mini Madonna, Baby Beyonce, Little Gaga, Micro Jackson and Junior Bieber taking the stage for stunningly choreographed performances. The show will see the young tribute artists mimicking the signature moves of the icons they represent in some of the stars best costumes.

Perch Creek
12 18 January, 2015, WAFI Mall

Perch Creek is a band of five energetic multi-instrumentalists and vocalists four of whom happen to be siblings. This family band plays harmony driven roots music with a creative energy and fearless spirit. Over the past 10 years, Perch Creek has taken its music across the globe laying the foundation to become one of the most entertaining and innovative original musical acts performing in Australia and other countries. The band has performed in ABCs Spicks & Specks, The Sydney Opera House in addition to their extensive international tours and major festival appearances including Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Green Man, The Falls Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Golden Plains and more.

Spirit of the Orient
8 17 January, 2015, China Court Ibn Battuta Mall

Spirit of the Orient is a show featuring some of the most spectacular and spellbinding traditional Chinese art forms and music. Donned in colourful traditional costumes, the cast of 25 international female artists from China including dancers, musicians and calligraphers are set to enchant and grip audiences during the 20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival. Featuring lively music, the show promises to bring to life elements of Chinese culture and art such as drumming, Chinese instruments made of crystal and porcelain and stunning giant calligraphy in ways that will mesmerize every member of the family.

From West End to Broadway
25 31 January, 2015, China Court Ibn Battuta Mall

The West End to Broadway show is a song and dance performance with hits from some of the most well-known musicals ever to have been shown at the two of the most famous theatre lands in the world.
With hits from popular shows such as Miss Saigon, Oliver!, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, Cats and many more, the West End to Broadway show is a fun, highly entertaining show and is tailored for the entire family.

Get ready to be part of a breathtaking dance performance featuring both ballet and hip hop. Watch talented ballet and hip hop dancers challenge each other during a non-verbal performance that puts the spotlight on popular dance routines such as pirouettes, rock and ballet. The dancers of B-Boying with Ballerinas have performed in more than 30 countries including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, France, Germany, England, Netherland, Italy, Luxembourg, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Laos, Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. B-Boying is a style of street dance that was started by African American and Puerto Rican youths in New York City before growing in popularity across the world.
