Azizi Developments Sponsors Dubai World Cup for Ninth Consecutive Year
Azizi Developments has reaffirmed its long-standing support for the Dubai World Cup (DWC), marking nine consecutive years of sponsorship as the globally renowned event celebrates its 30th edition.
The developer continues to back the prestigious $1.5 million Al Quoz Sprint, a Group 1, 1,200-meter turf race it has sponsored since 2017. Since its introduction to the DWC card in 2010, the race has attracted elite competitors from across the globe, including Australia, South Africa, Ireland, the United States, the UAE, and Hong Kong.
The 2025 edition of the Al Quoz Sprint saw Believing secure victory under jockey William Buick, trained by George Boughey, and owned by a consortium including Mrs. Magnier, M. Tabor, D. Smith, and Resolute. The race continues to be regarded as one of the most competitive international sprints on the racing calendar.
At this year’s event, Mirwais Azizi presented the trophy to the winning connections of Native Approach (UAE), ridden by jockey Connor Beasley. The ongoing partnership highlights Azizi’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance Dubai’s global standing, aligning with its broader vision of contributing to the emirate’s cultural and sporting landscape.
Commenting on the milestone, Farhad Azizi said the nine-year association reflects the company’s pride in supporting equestrian sports, which are deeply rooted in the UAE’s heritage. He added that hosting an event of such global stature underscores Dubai’s ability to set international benchmarks for excellence—principles that also guide Azizi’s development approach.
Established in 1996 under the patronage of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, the Dubai World Cup remains one of the world’s most prestigious horse racing events. Azizi Developments’ continued involvement reinforces its belief in platforms that elevate Dubai’s profile on the international stage.
