ASATEER Project Wins ‘Emirati Traditional Crafts’ Award at Make it in the Emirates Forum

The ASATEER project, supported by the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED), has been honored with the prestigious ‘Emirati Traditional Crafts’ Award at the fourth edition of the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ Forum. The accolade recognizes ASATEER’s innovative contributions to preserving Emirati heritage through contemporary design and sustainable craftsmanship.

Held annually, the Make it in the Emirates Forum stands as the UAE’s premier industrial gathering, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from across sectors to promote local manufacturing and drive economic development. ASATEER was lauded by the forum’s judging panel for its cultural authenticity, originality, and its potential to significantly boost the local creative economy.

Mohammed Rashed AlSuwaidi, founder of ASATEER, expressed pride in the recognition, attributing the project’s success to the continuous support of KFED. “This recognition inspires us to strengthen our presence in the local market and explore new opportunities for growth, including partnerships and collaborations,” he said. “ASATEER’s products are rooted in Emirati heritage and inspired by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We are committed to preserving our culture while embracing sustainable and eco-friendly practices.”

ASATEER’s involvement in key events, including its participation at the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), reflects its dedication to sustainability and innovation within the design industry.

Mouza Al Nasri, Acting CEO of Khalifa Fund, praised the achievement: “ASATEER’s success is a testament to the strength of the UAE’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Our mission is to support startups that are not only innovative but also play a vital role in our sustainable economic growth.”

Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Make it in the Emirates Forum and its accompanying awards aim to position the UAE as a global hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing. The awards highlight the impact of local enterprises in shaping the future of the nation’s industrial and creative sectors.
