NMDC LTS and Chaoda Sign MoU to Explore Valve Manufacturing Facility in UAE

NMDC LTS, a business vertical of the NMDC Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese industrial manufacturer Chaoda to explore the establishment of a valve manufacturing facility in the UAE. The announcement was made during the "Make it in the Emirates" (MIITE) forum, being held from 19 to 22 May 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

The proposed facility will focus on assembling, fabricating, and distributing industrial valves and related components to serve the regional energy sector. This potential joint venture aims to support the UAE’s broader goal of strengthening domestic industrial capabilities and localizing critical components in energy infrastructure.

Chaoda, headquartered in China, is renowned for its design and production of valves for a range of industrial applications including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation. Through the MoU, NMDC LTS and Chaoda will assess the viability of establishing the facility in the UAE, including requirements for equipment, staffing, and operational logistics.

NMDC LTS, in collaboration with NMDC Energy, plans to leverage its existing network within the energy industry and its logistical strengths to ensure the project’s success. The initiative aligns with the objectives of MIITE, which seeks to drive industrial growth, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and stimulate the local economy.

Peter Marvin, Chief Technical & Resource Pool Officer at NMDC LTS, commented, “This potential partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to localizing supply chains and boosting technical capabilities within the UAE and the wider region. Integrating Chaoda’s manufacturing expertise with our sector knowledge will help establish a reliable, locally operated source for critical components in the energy sector.”

The NMDC Group’s presence at MIITE underscores its role in driving Abu Dhabi’s development and contributing to the UAE’s industrial and economic growth. The Group is also showcasing other strategic partnerships and providing updates on its international projects, with active initiatives in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Taiwan, Vietnam, and across the UAE.
