Arada awards AED183 million contract for Reigate Grammar School Masaar in Sharjah

Arada has awarded a Dh183 million construction contract for the development of Reigate Grammar School Masaar, a new K-12 campus with a capacity of 2,700 students within its flagship Masaar community.

The project, being developed in partnership with Bright Capital Investment, will mark the first branch campus of a UK school in Sharjah, further strengthening the emirate’s premium education offering.

Construction underway with 2027 opening target

The main construction contract has been awarded to Al Rehab Al Arabi Building Contracting Co. LLC, with work already underway. The project is scheduled for completion within 16 months, with the school set to open its doors in September 2027.

Premium campus with world-class facilities

Located within the Masaar megaproject, a Dh9.5 billion forested community, the school will be built on a 450,000-square-foot plot in the development’s northern zone.

The campus will feature a wide range of state-of-the-art amenities, including:

A performing arts centre
A library and STEM centre
Multipurpose halls
Sports facilities and swimming pools

Historic UK institution expands to UAE

Reigate Grammar School, founded near London in 1675, will launch its first UAE campus through this project. The institution was recently named Independent School of the Year 2025 by The Sunday Times.

The Sharjah campus will follow the school’s established educational philosophy, known as “The Reigate Way,” which emphasises innovative teaching, leadership development, and student wellbeing.

Leaders highlight strategic milestone

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said the project reflects the developer’s commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure for families in Sharjah.

“This exceptional campus will be ready to welcome its first pupils in 2027,” he noted.

Esref Temel described the project as a key milestone in bringing British education excellence to the emirate.

Meanwhile, Sean Davey highlighted the UAE expansion as part of the school’s growing international network, which includes campuses across Asia and the Middle East.

Market research has shown strong demand among Sharjah residents for a high-quality British curriculum school with advanced facilities. The new campus is expected to help meet this demand while enhancing the emirate’s education landscape.

Masaar: a growing lifestyle destination

Launched in 2021, Masaar is a 19-million-square-foot master-planned community featuring over 70,000 trees and a signature “green spine” connecting its six gated districts.

Strategically located in the Suyoh district, the development offers easy access to Emirates Road and Maliha Road, and is within a 15-minute drive of Sharjah International Airport and 20 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
