Ajman Tourism Development Department Explores Tourism Cooperation Prospects in China
The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has embarked on a promotional tour to China, led by H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ATDD. The delegation's tour, which includes visits to Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing, aims to foster collaboration and explore tourism partnerships, with the tour concluding on October 26, 2024.
The primary objective of the tour is to strengthen ties with China's tourism sector through partnerships with key operators and leaders, alongside signing agreements and memorandums. Ajman is keen on showcasing its latest tourist projects and destinations, positioning itself as a global tourist destination.
H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi emphasized the importance of global cooperation in aligning with Ajman’s strategy to support its expanding entertainment and tourism sectors. He said, “Our promotional tour to China seeks to establish strategic partnerships that will promote sustainable and economic tourism development. We aim to highlight Ajman’s unique cultural and tourist attractions, offering visitors an enriching experience.”
In 2024, Ajman experienced a surge in Chinese tourists, with international visitors making up 72% of its tourism, making China one of the top 10 source markets for the emirate. The tour is part of ATDD’s strategy to raise global awareness of Ajman and enhance the national economy through increased hotel revenues, employment creation, and investment in tourism.
