Ajman Department of Tourism Development Celebrates Winners of the ‘Tourism Innovator Award 2025’

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) has honoured the winners of the prestigious ‘Tourism Innovator Award 2025’, recognizing young talents for their pioneering contributions to sustainable tourism and innovation in the Emirate.

The awards ceremony, led by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTD, acknowledged standout projects that reflect the Emirate’s commitment to encouraging scientific research, creative thinking, and youth empowerment in line with the UAE’s vision for a future driven by innovation and sustainability.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Tourism Leaders

Speaking at the event, H.E. Alhashmi emphasized ADTD’s commitment to nurturing innovation in the tourism sector and beyond.

“At ADTD, we fully recognise the vital role innovation plays in crafting forward-thinking policies and solutions to meet the evolving needs of the tourism industry,” he stated. “We view youth as the cornerstone of a sustainable and excellent future. That’s why we are investing in their potential and supporting projects that contribute to social and economic development.”

The award initiative serves as a platform to empower youth, promote entrepreneurial thinking, and encourage the development of smart tourism services that enhance visitor experiences and elevate Ajman’s position as a premier tourist destination.

Winning Projects Drive Innovation in Tourism

The first prize went to Dana bint Khaled Ash for her innovative concept, Tourism of Dreams, a project that uses AI and behavioural analysis to create personalized travel experiences tailored to individual preferences and personalities.

In second place, the team of Nour Radwan, Sameera Anwar, and Sarah Ghazal was awarded for Mehwar, an intelligent platform that curates personalized content for tourists based on their interests, blending information with immersive travel experiences.

The third-place prize was awarded to Shahd Raed Ibrahim Baloosha and Ghina Fadi Al Hosni for TriPlay, a tourism-gaming hybrid app that targets diverse age groups to make travel more engaging and fun.

Ahmed Mokhtar Sharif earned fourth place with SmartAI-Tour, a project that applies artificial intelligence and data analytics to revolutionize tourism inspection and classification systems in Ajman.

The fifth-place recognition went to Mohamed Hassan Nassar and Malak Hassan Nassar for their Smart Tourism Event Organiser, a digital system designed to manage tourism events more efficiently using advanced planning and monitoring tools.

Building a Culture of Research and Innovation

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students, evaluated based on innovation, value-added benefits, and feasibility. The initiative was supported by collaborations with universities and higher education institutions to foster a research-driven environment that nurtures creativity and aligns with national development goals.

ADTD’s initiatives are focused on instilling the principles of innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity among youth. By supporting entrepreneurial ventures, the department aims to create tangible impacts that solidify Ajman’s global tourism standing.
