AJi Enters Syrian Market Through Strategic Partnership With Tala Engineering
AJi has officially entered the Syrian market and announced the signing of a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Tala Engineering Consulting and Project Management, a Damascus-based consultancy firm, marking a significant step in expanding its regional presence and supporting Syria’s anticipated reconstruction efforts.
The announcement was made during AJi’s participation at BUILDEX 2026, the 24th International Exhibition for Construction, held from June 10 to 14, 2026, at the Damascus Fairground in Syria.
The agreement establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the two companies to jointly pursue opportunities in engineering consultancy, design, supervision, and project management across Syria. Through the partnership, AJi will combine its international engineering experience with Tala Engineering’s local market understanding and regulatory expertise.
The collaboration is expected to focus on projects across key sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, urban development, hospitality, transportation, industrial development, and public sector initiatives, aligning with Syria’s projected reconstruction and redevelopment agenda.
According to the latest assessment cited by the company, Syria’s reconstruction requirements are estimated at US$216 billion, including approximately US$82 billion allocated to essential infrastructure such as power networks, roads, and water systems. The scale of reconstruction is expected to create substantial opportunities for both international and local market participants.
Commenting on the agreement, Eng. Hamzeh Awwad, CEO of AJi Group, described Syria as one of the region’s emerging opportunities and emphasised that reconstruction extends beyond rebuilding infrastructure to creating sustainable and liveable urban environments for future generations.
He noted that achieving reconstruction at this scale requires cooperation across multiple industries including engineering, construction, finance, energy, and technology, highlighting the partnership with Tala Engineering as an example of combining international expertise with local capabilities.
The agreement comes amid renewed momentum in Syria’s development landscape following easing international restrictions and increased engagement from Gulf, European, and international stakeholders, contributing to the acceleration of projects in transportation, energy, urban development, and industrial zones.
AJi stated that its participation in BUILDEX 2026 and the agreement with Tala Engineering reinforce the company’s long-term commitment to the Syrian market and its intention to contribute to the country’s sustainable recovery and future development through engineering and project delivery expertise.
