SolitAir Appoints ATC as Dangerous Goods Training Partner to Strengthen Air Cargo Safety Standards
SolitAir, the UAE-based next-generation dedicated B2B airport-to-airport cargo airline, has appointed Aviation Training Center (ATC) Dubai as its preferred training partner for dangerous goods (DG) handling and transportation, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and global air cargo compliance.
The partnership is aimed at equipping SolitAir’s growing workforce with advanced training methodologies, updated regulatory knowledge, and specialised competencies required for the safe handling and transport of dangerous goods—one of the most commercially important and highly regulated cargo categories in aviation.
The collaboration also supports the UAE’s broader ambition of strengthening its position as a global hub for safe, efficient, and innovation-driven air cargo operations.
Dangerous goods transport by air operates under strict international compliance frameworks governed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), with regulations updated annually to address emerging risks and changing cargo requirements.
The latest 67th edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, which became mandatory from January 1, 2026, introduced major updates including revised requirements for lithium battery shipments, updated state variations, and standardised operator variation wording.
Commenting on the appointment, Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO of SolitAir, said the regulatory changes reinforce the importance of maintaining current and rigorous training across airline operations teams.
He added that through the partnership, SolitAir aims to ensure employees remain aligned with evolving international standards while further strengthening the airline’s existing dangerous goods operations across categories 1–9, including the handling of lithium batteries, flammable liquids, and other hazardous cargo types across its expanding route network.
ATC Dubai is recognised for its aviation training standards and regulatory compliance, holding approvals from both the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and IATA. Its Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) programmes are designed to help aviation organisations maintain high standards of operational readiness, compliance, and safety performance.
Neeraj Arora, CEO of ATC Dubai, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to delivering world-class training solutions that address the evolving demands of the aviation sector and strengthen workforce capability across the industry.
Founded in 2024 and headquartered at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), SolitAir currently operates a fleet of seven Boeing 737-800 BCF freighters from its 20,440-square-metre logistics facility.
Each aircraft is capable of carrying up to 20 tonnes of cargo and is configured to support specialised freight categories including pharmaceuticals, perishables, e-commerce shipments, dangerous goods, valuables, and oversized cargo.
Operating from DWC—an aviation hub with a long-term target capacity of 12 million tonnes annually—SolitAir has established a growing network spanning more than 50 destinations across over 30 countries, connecting Dubai with key trade markets across the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia, China, and beyond.
