164 Wrecks from Several Areas in Abu Dhabi Removed by The Department of Municipalities and Transport
The Department of Municipalities and Transport declared a campaign to get rid of a crew of neglected and deserted ships, boats and sailboats in multiple regions in Abu Dhabi, as part of its efforts to make sure the smooth movement of maritime navigation, and its steady concern to maintain the integrity of the marine environment, and to maintain the aesthetic look of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
The campaign, which was carried out in numerous stages, resulted in the elimination of the wrecks of 164 boats and ships that distort the aesthetic look of these areas and have been a hotbed of bugs and rodents.
The campaign has been carried out by the Department in cooperation with the Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA), and came after the closing date for warnings issued to the proprietors of these ships, boats and boats in every of the waterways, Mina Zayed, Mussafah, Shahama, Tawila and Al-Bateen.
