UAE Welcomes Ceasefire Announcement in Gaza and Calls for Peaceful Resolution

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has expressed the UAE’s support for the recently announced ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as well as the release of detainees, hostages, and captives.

Sheikh Abdullah praised the diplomatic efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in brokering the ceasefire agreement, expressing hope that it will help bring an end to the ongoing suffering, prevent further loss of life, and work towards resolving the long-standing crisis in Gaza. He stressed the importance of both parties fully committing to the agreement to alleviate the anguish of Palestinian captives and Israeli hostages.

The UAE Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for immediate and unrestricted humanitarian aid to reach the civilians in Gaza, many of whom have endured critical conditions for over 15 months. He reaffirmed the UAE’s firm stance on the importance of supporting efforts to advance the Middle East peace process, condemning illegal practices that undermine the two-state solution and calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of the rights of the Palestinian people.
