The UAE Ministry of Economy (MOE), in Cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), has Launched the UAE Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Award in Line with World Intellect

The UAE Ministry of Economy (MOE), together with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), has released the UAE Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Award in accordance with World Copyright Day, which occurred today at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel in Dubai.

The ceremony was attended by H.E Eng. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi Undersecretary of Economic Affairs in the MOE, H.E Maj. General Dr. Abdul Quddoos A.R. Al-Obaidli, Assistant Commander for Excellence & Pioneering in Dubai Police, Chairman of EIPA, Mr. Rida Abu Obeid, representative of WIPO, and the members of the higher committee of the Award represented by Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Activities Sector and Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department at the MOE, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, CEO of Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection at the Department of Development in Dubai, Dr. Mansoor Al Awari Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi Interim Executive Vice President Khalifa University, together with authorities from government entities and the Emirates Businesswomen's Council.

The award focuses on enhancing the country's competitiveness in patents and intellectual property rights, boosting a society of innovation that sustains economic, social and social advancement initiatives, highlighting specific and institutional advancements and rewarding developers, in addition to developing a more comprehensive understanding of IP executions.

The award includes Four categories

The members of the Higher Committee include the Ministry of Education, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), Khalifa University, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) and a representative from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
