Tawazun Council Announces AED 9.77 Billion in Contracts Over First Two Days of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025

The Tawazun Council, the government authority overseeing acquisitions, procurement, and contracts for the UAE Ministry of Defense and security agencies, has announced the signing of five contracts worth AED 5.8 billion with local and international companies on the second day of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025. With these agreements, the total value of contracts signed during the first two days of the exhibitions has reached AED 9.77 billion across 18 deals.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, and Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri, the official spokespersons for the Tawazun Council. The event highlighted the council’s efforts to secure strategic partnerships and strengthen the UAE’s defense sector.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 are organized by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Tawazun Council. The exhibitions serve as key platforms for showcasing the latest advancements in defense technology and fostering international partnerships.

Breakdown of Local and International Contracts

Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri revealed that the total value of local contracts signed on the second day amounted to AED 5.57 billion. These included:

  • Calidus Aerospace: Procurement of the HEDA Missile System (Phase 1) – AED 3.76 billion
  • International Golden Group: Supply of ammunition – AED 492 million
  • DTEC Industries Limited: Acquisition of 50-meter marine traffic boats – AED 1.38 billion

Additionally, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi announced that international contracts for the second day totaled AED 213 million. These agreements comprised:

  • MBDA (France): Supply of spare parts, maintenance, repairs, and technical support for naval equipment – AED 32 million
  • Augusta Westland Aviation Services (Italy): Provision of technical, engineering, and logistics support, including aircraft spare parts – AED 181 million

Strengthening Defense Capabilities and Local Industry

Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi emphasized the Tawazun Council’s commitment to fostering collaboration between leading local and international defense firms. He noted that IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 serve as crucial platforms for showcasing emerging technologies and innovations, reinforcing the UAE’s defense strategy, and expanding local manufacturing capabilities.

“These agreements are pivotal in enhancing the country’s self-reliance in defense manufacturing, stimulating investment in advanced technologies, and supporting sustainable economic development,” Al Jaberi stated.

As IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 progress, the Tawazun Council continues to drive strategic defense partnerships, positioning the UAE as a global leader in advanced defense and security solutions.
