Syrian Cyclist Ibrahim Al Rifai Wins Title in Inaugural ‘L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France’

The highly anticipated inaugural edition of L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France took place over the weekend in the UAE, delivering an exceptional cycling event that drew over 1,000 passionate riders. The race welcomed amateur cyclists, non-professional competitors, and experienced athletes, marking the largest participation in a debut cycling event of its kind in the country.

The competition, held on February 2, saw hundreds of participants setting off from Dubai Design District (D3) on a challenging 101 km route. The course extended through Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) before leading the cyclists onto Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street (D54). Syrian cyclist Ibrahim Al Rifai, 18 years old and residing in the UAE, made a decisive surge in the final stretch, securing victory as he crossed the finish line at Expo Village Park. The race also saw a significant international presence, with over 250 Emirati riders joining the challenge.

Following a fiercely competitive race, Ibrahim Al Rifai clinched the first-ever L’Etape Dubai title with a time of 02:17:24. He was closely followed by Ivan Kormshikov, who delivered an outstanding performance, while Daniel Konotop secured third place. Due to the intense nature of the competition, riders had to test their endurance and strategies under challenging conditions, fueled by an electrifying atmosphere that pushed them toward the finish line.
