Smiths Detection Secures Major Contract to Upgrade Security Screening at Dubai International Airport

Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and screening technologies, has been awarded a major contract by Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) to deploy advanced checkpoint screening systems across all terminals at Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

The new systems will include the HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model-S, a state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scanner that represents the latest in checkpoint screening technology. Powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, the system offers high-resolution imaging, automated threat detection, and faster, more accurate screening—all contributing to heightened security and improved passenger throughput.

Jerome de Chassey, President of Smiths Detection, stated:

“We are proud to be awarded this contract. The deployment of this cutting-edge technology will significantly enhance both the security and efficiency of passenger screening processes at DXB.”

DAEP’s decision to partner with Smiths Detection is part of a broader vision to modernize airport infrastructure and operations through smart and secure solutions. The rollout of AI-enhanced security screening reaffirms DAEP’s commitment to a seamless, world-class travel experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

With decades of experience in aviation security, Smiths Detection continues to shape the future of air travel by delivering robust solutions that meet the evolving challenges of global aviation.
