Smartworld and Grape Technology Announced the Launch of Shahada, a Digital Certificate Protocol Built on Blockchain Technology
Smartworld and Grape Technology announced on February 3, 2020 the launch of Shahada, which provides SaaS capabilities to securely create, maintain, share, and verify academic credentials through web platform & mobile application.
Shahada is in alignment with both the UAE blockchain strategy 2021 and the fifty-year charter (article 4) that have been launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on April 2018 and January 2019 respectively. Shahada creates a consolidated academic profile for all UAE residents completely powered via blockchain technology to store time, effort and resources as well as enhance happiness levels.
With the implementation of Shahada, academic institutions can issue credentials for all their students on blockchain. UAE Residents will have consolidated academic profiles where they can preserve and verify their digital records. They can additionally share them with employers and other entities who can effortlessly verify digitally their authenticity and identify fraudulent records. Shahada is additionally integrated with UAE Pass to identify the user; and grant user consent for sharing digitally.
Shahada eco-system brings together Education Institutions, Government Entities and other stakeholders on a secure permissioned blockchain platform. Shahada empowers Ministries to play a regulatory position on the blockchain records, digitally attest and certify credentials issued inside and outside the UAE.
