SLC Signs MoU with Financial Audit Authority to Boost Legal and Institutional Cooperation

The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) and the Financial Audit Authority (FAA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in legal and institutional matters. The agreement aims to enhance joint efforts to monitor the compliance of government entities in Dubai with existing legislation, while also establishing clear guidelines for the integration of both parties’ roles in this regard.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the SLC, and H.E. Abdulrahman Hareb Rashed Al Hareb, Director General of the FAA. Through this agreement, both parties will leverage each other’s legal expertise and promote collaboration in legal training, as well as organising specialised training courses and meetings focused on legislative compliance.

H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi commented, “This MoU reflects our shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in the legal and institutional sectors. It creates a foundation for exchanging expertise and knowledge, which will contribute to the development of a more effective legislative and audit system. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with the FAA and exploring new areas of collaboration.”

H.E. Abdulrahman Hareb Rashed Al Hareb praised the collaboration, stating, “The MoU aligns with our strategic goals to foster partnerships that enhance legal knowledge and support legislative auditing. It will help ensure that government entities adhere to legislation while promoting integrity, accountability, and transparency. We look forward to continued cooperation with the SLC.”

The agreement also includes cooperation in legal research, exchange of visits, and the organisation of meetings on legislative developments. Both parties will share legal publications, participate in conferences and seminars, and collaborate on updating the FAA’s legislative database.

This MoU reflects the SLC’s goal of promoting legislative compliance and fostering a legal culture that aligns with the UAE’s vision of sustainable development and global leadership.
