Ras Al Khaimah Ruler inaugurates emirate’s first business consultancy in China
Ras Al Khaimah has inaugurated its first business consultancy in China, marking a new step in efforts to strengthen economic ties and expand cooperation with Chinese businesses, particularly in Guangdong province.
HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, inaugurated the consultancy in Guangzhou, an industrial hub in Guangdong. The facility will serve as a platform for closer engagement between the emirate and Chinese companies, supporting cooperation across key sectors.
The initiative builds on historical trade links between Ras Al Khaimah and China, which date back centuries and included the exchange of goods such as porcelain and pearls. More than four decades of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China have further strengthened the foundation for bilateral cooperation.
Ruler highlights long-term partnership
Speaking at the inauguration, Sheikh Saud said that successful partnerships depend on stability, transparency, governance and long-term commitment, alongside business opportunities.
He described the consultancy as a meaningful step towards closer cooperation, connecting people, cultures and industries in both countries.
The facility is intended to help make collaboration between Ras Al Khaimah and Chinese partners more continuous, moving beyond occasional engagements towards sustained cooperation.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Saud toured the new consultancy. A traditional Chinese lion dance and the distribution of customary red packets added a cultural element to the event.
Students participate in Ras Al Khaimah calendar competition
The inauguration celebrations also included the Ras Al Khaimah 2027 Calendar Sketches Competition, which attracted almost 200 students aged 11 to 15 from Guangzhou.
Participants were invited to depict Ras Al Khaimah through art, drawing inspiration from the emirate’s mountains, beaches, natural landscapes, heritage, culture and traditions. The 12 winning entries will be included in the official Ras Al Khaimah 2027 calendar.
Talks focus on expanding ties with Guangdong
During his visit to Guangdong, Sheikh Saud also met Wang Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee.
The discussions focused on strengthening relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong and expanding cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
The opening of the consultancy and the meetings in Guangdong reflect Ras Al Khaimah’s efforts to deepen engagement with Chinese businesses and develop long-term partnerships between the emirate and the province.
