Sharjah Digital Department Partners with Dell Technologies to Accelerate AI Adoption in Government

Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dell Technologies to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across government operations in the emirate.

The collaboration aims to build institutional AI capabilities and enhance the readiness of government entities to adopt advanced technologies, supporting Sharjah’s broader vision of a more efficient, innovative, and citizen-centric public service ecosystem.

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of SDD, and Walid Yehia, Managing Director of Gulf Dell Technologies, in the presence of senior officials including Lamia Obaid Al Hossan Al Shamsi and Majid Hamad Al Marri.

Building AI Capabilities Across Government

Under the MoU, a comprehensive programme will be rolled out featuring hands-on training, knowledge transfer, and specialised workshops. The initiative will target senior and mid-level government executives, developers, and professionals across multiple sectors, including culture, arts, and agriculture.

The programme is designed to help entities develop practical AI use cases within their operations, enabling more efficient service delivery, improved decision-making, and enhanced customer experiences.

Driving Digital Transformation

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi emphasised that AI is a key driver in reshaping government operations, rather than just a technological tool. He noted that the initiative forms part of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, which aims to create a smart, interconnected government ecosystem through enhanced data integration and advanced technologies.

He added that the partnership reflects the importance of public-private collaboration in accelerating digital transformation, leveraging global expertise, and strengthening institutional capabilities.

Supporting a Future-Ready Government

Walid Yehia highlighted that the collaboration will bring Dell Technologies’ global expertise to Sharjah, enabling government entities to harness cutting-edge AI solutions and develop high-performance operational models.

The initiative aligns with SDD’s broader mandate to lead digital transformation across Sharjah by developing policies, building capabilities, and fostering integration between government entities. It is expected to contribute to a sustainable digital ecosystem that enhances service quality, supports economic growth, and places people at the centre of innovation.
