Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and SAP Successfully Deploy RISE with SAP to Advance Vision 2030 Goals
The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), in collaboration with global technology leader SAP, has successfully completed the first phase of its digital transformation through the deployment of RISE with SAP. This milestone, unveiled at the LEAP technology event in Riyadh, underscores SOPC’s commitment to modernizing sports governance and operations in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
As the independent governing body responsible for Saudi Arabia’s Olympic and Paralympic representation, SOPC plays a pivotal role in shaping the Kingdom’s sports sector policies and strategic development. The integration of SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) enhances SOPC’s ability to automate key processes, leverage real-time data insights, and strengthen governance capabilities. Implemented by SAP Services, this digital transformation fosters informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Prior to this initiative, SOPC relied on complex manual processes. The transition to SAP’s AI-driven cloud infrastructure establishes a scalable and flexible system, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s ambition to build a technology-enabled sports economy. The next phase of this transformation will extend digital services to Saudi sports federations, ensuring an integrated and streamlined governance ecosystem.
Bakr Darwish, Chief Shared Services & Solutions Officer at SOPC, stated:
"The successful deployment of RISE with SAP reflects our dedication to innovation and excellence in sports governance. Through collaboration with SAP, we have identified and implemented the most effective technology solutions to support our mission of representing Saudi Arabia at the highest levels while fostering a dynamic sports environment. Our digital transformation will not only benefit our athletes but also enhance employee engagement and development through advanced HR management systems."
Andy Froemmel, Vice President and General Manager, Customer Services & Delivery, SAP Middle East and Africa – North, added:
"We are honored to support SOPC on this digital journey. By leveraging the RISE with SAP implementation methodology, SOPC now operates on a robust, scalable platform that enables rapid adoption of AI-driven solutions. This transformation strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as a leader in sports governance and innovation while reinforcing our shared commitment to Vision 2030."
As Saudi Arabia emerges as a global hub for sports governance, digital innovation, and international sporting events, SOPC continues to lead this transformation. The Kingdom was recently announced as the host of the inaugural Olympic Esports Games 2025, further cementing its role in shaping the future of sports and technology.
With SAP’s intelligent cloud-based solutions, SOPC is now equipped to optimize operations, enhance decision-making, and set new standards for efficiency and sustainability in global sports governance.
