Samsung Introduces Galaxy AI to New Galaxy Watch for Enhanced Health and Fitness
Samsung is set to revolutionize its Galaxy Watch lineup with the introduction of Galaxy AI, bringing advanced health and fitness features to its popular wearable. This development follows the successful integration of AI into the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year, underscoring Samsung’s commitment to expanding Galaxy AI across its devices.
Advanced Intelligence for Holistic Health Insights
Samsung aims to elevate the health and wellness experience by integrating Galaxy AI with the Samsung Health app, providing users with comprehensive health insights and motivational support. The new Energy Score feature analyzes personal health metrics, including sleep, activity, and heart rate, to offer a detailed understanding of daily health conditions. Enhanced by on-device large language model (LLM) technology, users receive personalized insights that offer actionable advice and encouragement.
Precision and Accuracy in Health Metrics
Accurate health data is crucial for meaningful insights. Samsung's advanced health algorithms and tracking tools will deliver holistic and personalized health data. Enhancements to the sleep AI algorithm will offer deeper insights into sleep quality, including metrics such as movement, time in bed, heart rate variability, and respiratory rate during sleep.
New Fitness Features
The new Galaxy Watch will feature advanced fitness capabilities, traditionally found in high-end equipment. Running and cycling enthusiasts can benefit from detailed metrics like Aerobic Threshold (AT) and Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zones. Cyclists can also calculate Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics, allowing for tailored training and performance optimization. Additionally, new workout routines and fitness tracking tools will help users seamlessly transition between exercises and track their progress effectively.
Expanding Galaxy AI Across Devices
Junho Park, VP and Head of the Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team at Samsung Electronics, stated, “By expanding the power of Galaxy AI across our ecosystem, we’re looking to open up new possibilities with optimized and connected experiences that offer users greater personalization and intelligence. The introduction of Galaxy AI to Galaxy Watch is just the beginning, and we’re excited to showcase more integrations across our Galaxy portfolio soon.”
Availability
These new features will be available on the next Galaxy Watch lineup via One UI 6 Watch, set to launch later this year. A limited number of Galaxy Watch users will have early access to the One UI 6 Watch Beta starting in June. This preview is just a glimpse of what Samsung has in store, with more to come as advanced hardware upgrades are integrated into the new Galaxy Watch series.
