Projection Light Festival to Debut at Moskino Cinema Park in August

Moskino Cinema Park, part of the Moscow Department of Culture, is set to host the Projection Light Festival for the first time on August 30–31, 2025. The international event will showcase cutting-edge audiovisual technologies, multimedia art, and spectacular light performances, creating an immersive cultural experience for visitors.

The festival will feature large-scale light installations, digital art exhibitions, and music shows headlined by international stars. Among the highlights, Swedish-Congolese R&B singer Mohombi, known for his Billboard Music Award and Kora All-African Music Award wins, will perform on August 30. Mohombi’s tracks have surpassed 550 million streams worldwide. On August 31, the main stage will welcome American hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes, a BET Hip-Hop Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards winner, whose music has gathered over 650 million global streams.

According to Moskino’s press office, the festival aims to create a new format of urban cultural space at the intersection of cinema, music, and digital art. “The Projection Festival demonstrates how technology can enhance the perception of art and transform urban spaces into the media environment of the future,” the statement said.

The festival program includes:

  • An LED tunnel installation, transforming the park’s main alley into a cinematic corridor of light and motion.

  • Video mapping in a ‘Moscow of the 1940s’ setting, bringing archival city life stories to life with modern visual effects.

  • A dynamic airplane light installation near the main stage, creating a sense of motion and guiding visitors through the venue.

  • Immersive stage performances blending sound, light, and video into a unified artistic experience.

Over the course of two days, more than 10 artists and performers will take part, establishing the Moscow Cinema Cluster as a growing hub not only for film but also for music, digital art, and cultural innovation.
