Parkin Company PJSC has signed a multi-year agreement with Emaar Mall Management, part of Emaar Properties PJSC, to roll out AI-driven parking enforcement services across key retail destinations in Dubai.

The agreement will see advanced enforcement systems implemented at Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, and Dubai Marina Mall, targeting improved traffic flow, parking efficiency, and accessibility compliance.

Focus on Accessibility and Smart Enforcement

The initiative places strong emphasis on protecting People of Determination (PoD) parking spaces, ensuring they remain accessible exclusively to eligible users. Parkin will deploy its Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, powered by AI, to monitor designated bays.

Once a vehicle occupies a PoD space, the system will automatically scan the number plate and verify whether a valid permit is registered. In cases where no permit is detected, the system flags the incident to a central command centre for review. If confirmed, a penalty notice may be issued, with a built-in grace period allowing drivers to relocate their vehicles in genuine cases.

Combining Technology with On-Ground Monitoring

In addition to automated enforcement, Parkin will conduct dedicated field inspections across all three malls to ensure full compliance with Dubai’s parking regulations. This hybrid approach combines real-time AI monitoring with human oversight, enhancing accuracy and fairness.

Strengthening Smart Mobility Strategy

Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali said the partnership reflects the company’s broader strategy to expand beyond traditional parking operations by leveraging technology-driven mobility solutions.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Al Matrooshi emphasized that the collaboration supports Emaar’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and inclusivity, particularly by safeguarding accessible parking facilities.

The deployment across some of Dubai’s busiest malls marks a significant step in integrating smart infrastructure within high-traffic environments. By improving parking compliance and accessibility, the initiative aims to create a more efficient, inclusive, and user-friendly experience for visitors.
