New PRO TREK Smartwatch from Casio for outdoor enthusiasts
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 17 February 2019: Casio is bringing to the Middle East the new addition to its PRO TREK Smart series of wrist devices for outdoor enthusiasts. Aptly called the WSD-F30, the new model will be available soon in the regional market with more state-of-the-art features compared to its two predecessors, the rugged WSD-F10 and WSD-F20, which were released in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
The new WSD-F30 timepiece is an update that comes with Extend Mode to enable the use of offline colour maps and GPS for up to three days on just a single charge. In Extend Mode, time and measurement data is continuously shown on the monochrome display, and a colour map can be displayed with a push of a button.
Extend Mode also conserves energy by switching the operating system to energy-saving standby mode on a schedule set by the user. It also ensures optimal power management based on the activity plan, allowing the user to track his or her current location on an offline map and record tracks during activities longer than a single day.
Moreover, with its new and improved 1.2-inch dual-layer monochrome and colour display, the model shows maps and data in finer detail through its organic EL display as well as displays atmospheric pressure/altitude and compass bearing apart from the time, as befits the PRO TREK outdoor gear brand.
The wrist device also comes with Multi Timepiece Mode, an evolution of the popular Timepiece Mode that allows only time data to be shown in monochrome while toggling off smartphone communication and the colour display. This feature provides useful information for outdoor activities at a glance while conserving energy.
The inner components have been rearranged to realize a watch case that is 3.9 mm narrower and 0.4 mm thinner than before, for a more compact profile that also looks good on trim wrists. Nano treatment gives the resin bezel a metal-like lustre for a luxury feel. The watchband has been improved and is now more flexible and has more holes for greater adjustability and fit.
Koji Naka, Managing Director, Casio Middle East, said: We are confident that the arrival of the WSD-F30 model in the Middle East is going to raise the bar higher in the regional smartwatch market. With water resistance up to 50 meters and environmental durability built to military specifications, the WSD-F30, which runs on Wear OS by Google, is a must-have accessory for all outdoor enthusiasts living in the region. We are excited to bring this new impressive wristwatch to the market and we cannot wait for CASIO fan base to try its features out for themselves and maximize them for their benefit.
The watch is charged for approximately three hours at room temperature via a magnetic charging terminal. The battery lasts for roughly one and a half days during normal use and approximately one month when used under Multi Timepiece Mode.
The PRO TREK WSD-F30 model will be available at Virgin Mega Store outlets in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall, and also at GShock stores at the City Centre Deira, Al Ghurair Centre, Arabian Center, City Centre Sharjah, City Center Ajman, City Center Fujairah, Khalidiyah Mall and Mushrif Mall. The model retail price is AED 1885.
