Mustang GTD Story Accelerates into Summer with Online Series and European Debut

Ford Mustang GTD to make its European debut in June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, followed by the 24 Hours of Spa and the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Ford is set to introduce the most advanced and audacious Mustang ever created, the Mustang GTD, to Europe. This highly anticipated debut will take place at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans. Following its European premiere, the Mustang GTD will undergo rigorous road testing across Europe, culminating in an official timed run in the fourth quarter of 2024 at the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall highlighted the extensive testing that has already taken place in North America, including laps at Sebring International Raceway and Virginia International Raceway. “We’ve tested the Mustang GTD in North America extensively. This has all been in service of engineering a car that can lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes,” Goodall stated. “Moving onto European roads and dedicated test sessions at the Nürburgring is the next step, ahead of a timed run later this year.”

The Mustang GTD is built to challenge Europe’s best, with subsequent appearances planned at the 24 Hours of Spa and the Goodwood Festival of Speed following its Le Mans debut.

To complement the Mustang GTD’s European introduction, Ford is launching an online storytelling series. This series will explore the cutting-edge components and engineering that elevate this Mustang to supercar status. Life-like computer-generated renderings will illustrate its advanced suspension and supercharged V8 engine, which aims to deliver over 800 horsepower. Fans can follow the series on Ford and Mustang’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and X, or visit the Mustang GTD page on Ford.com for the latest updates.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Mustang remains an iconic symbol in the Middle East, with the recent launch of the all-new Dark Horse edition. The Mustang GTD will soon be available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain. Customers interested in the Mustang GTD are encouraged to register with their local Ford distributor for more information.
