Ministry of Health and Prevention Holds World Health Day Celebration

The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently held an event commemorating World Health Day at the University of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), in the presence of H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry's Health Centers and Clinics Market, Dr. Fadila Mohammed Sharif, MOHAP's Director of Health Education and Promotion Department, Dr. Ayesha Suhail, Director of Main Medical care Department, Dr. Haifa Hamad Fares, Head of the Ministry of Health and Avoidance's Primary Health Care Program Area, and H.E. Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the RAK Medical Area. This year's theme was 'Let's talk about depression.

As part of its celebration, the Ministry additionally organized a series of events for a week at the Specialized Dental Facility in Ajman; the Training Facility at the Ministry of Education; the Umm Al Quwain Medical Area; the Ministry's office in Dubai; and the Emirates Association for Social Development in RAK.

H.E. Al Rand underscored the importance of the yearly World Health Day which highlights key health issues around the globe. For 2017, the World Health Company focused on increasing awareness on anxiety taking into account the growing number of people coping with the illness in different parts of the world. The celebration sought to promise and urge individuals dealing with depression to obtain proper medical care. More than 300 million people worldwide are coping with depression, causing reduced efficiency in societies and higher expense on health and social well-being. The economic losses associateded with the condition stands at greater than USD 1 trillion every year.

H.E. emphasized the UAE's initiatives to collaborate with the THAT as part of the nationwide schedule concentrating on constructing a health system according to worldwide standards. The UAE is just one of the top countries with high quality medical care many thanks to the vision of the country's wise leadership.

He added that a person of the Ministry's concerns is attending to mental health as evidenced by its constant efforts to boost prevention and very early discovery programs inning accordance with the goals of the National Strategy for Mental Health. The Ministry is working with developing a statistical data source to sustain and advertise clinical research study on mental health, recovery, and assistance as well as the integration of individuals with mental disorders right into society inning accordance with the most effective international standards and in line with efforts to bring happiness to citizens and residents.

H.E. Al Nuaimi delivered throughout the ceremony. H.E. Dr. Talaat Matar, Expert and Head of the Psychiatry Department at Ibrahim bin Hamad Obaidullah Health center, also discussed the symptoms and threats of depression. A video clip entitled 'Live Life' proving positivity and happiness was presented. Dr. Jassim Al Marzouqi, Expert Psychoanalyst at the Al Amal Medical facility, offered a lecture on clinical depression, while Al Rand recognized the participants that behind the celebration's success.
